Dishwashing
It’s very easy to find eco-friendly washing up, however most of it will be in plastic bottles. These days you can buy completely plastic free dish soap bars and even powder. You could even try to make your own washing up liquid. When we’re talking about dish cloths, sponges and scrubbers there are loads of different options available.
Cookware
One thing I’d never really thought about was whether I had eco-friendly saucepans. Steel ones are easy to find, but non-stick pans are not great for the environment. Eco-friendly cooking utensils are much easier to find and wooden spatulas and spoons have been around for years.
GreenPan uses Thermolon™ non-stick technology which is free from toxic chemicals.
Eco-Friendly Kitchen Utensils & Storage
Glass jars are great for storing dry foods in your kitchen. Glass dishes with glass lids (with a silicone seal) or with BPA free plastic lids are great for storing food in the fridge. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly alternative to cling film, get yourself some wax wraps. Read more about eco-friendly food containers, including ideas for lunch boxes.
